Biological Product Range
BIOLOGICAL PRODUCT FORMULATIONS
The biological product range supplied by Microbac is the environmentally friendly answer to the removal of organics and odours in industrial and domestic wastewaters. Microbac’s scientifically researched formulations digest organic wastes and eliminate odours naturally and effectively.
Each product in the range is a blend of micro-organisms specially selected for digesting specific types of organic compounds. The organisms are isolated from the natural environment and are selected for their ability to produce specific enzymes under controlled growth conditions. It is important to produce high levels of enzymes, as this is the mechanism by which the micro-organisms are able to break down organic molecules. For example, as the enzyme Lipase is required to break down fatty molecules, high levels of Lipase will result in more efficient fat degradation. It is, therefore, important to select bacterial strains that secrete as much as possible of the required enzyme. As some bacteria perform certain degradative tasks more efficiently than others, each biological product in the Microbac range contains a number of different species and strains. The resultant synergistic effect maximises enzyme production and degradation capacity in the microbial formulation. Each product includes a proprietary micronutrient carrier, which provides accelerated germination and growth and stimulates the rapid production of bacterial enzymes, thus promoting fast and effective organic degradation.
The bacterial formulations are stabilised and dried, ensuring long term stability and extended shelf life. In addition to the standard products below, customised formulations can be supplied on request. Formulations for use in saline environments are also available.
MICROBAC PH Hydrocarbon Degrader
Scientifically formulated for bio-augmentation of industrial wastewater treatment systems and municipal wastewater treatment plants receiving mixed wastewaters. Biomass enhancement with Microbac PH will enable the treatment system to efficiently and effectively degrade wastes that contain complex organics, such as benzenes, phenols, creosols, napthalenes, amines, alcohols, aliphatic and other aromatic hydrocarbons, methacrylates, nitriles, synthetic detergents and surfactants, gasoline, kerosene, fuel and machine oils, formaldehyde, glycols, hetercyclics such as pyridine, ethoxylated phenols, waxes and other difficult to treat organic compounds. Cyanides are biologically removed from solution.
MICROBAC PB General Organic Degrader
Effective in degrading proteins, fats and carbohydrates and in reducing Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), total suspended solids and sludge volume. For use in municipal (sewage) or industrial treatment plants, meat processing plants, rendering plants, dairies, food processing or packaging plants.
MICROBAC SL Liquid Grease Degrader
A biochemical drain and trap cleaner formulated to liquify and remove fats, oils and greases and other organic matter from drains and plumbing systems; it does not corrode metals, ceramics and plastics. For use in hospitals, nursing homes, colleges, schools, restaurants, motels, hotels, food processing plants, bakeries and private residences.
MICROBAC NN Ammonia Degrader
Formulated specifically for use in biochemically oxidising ammonia in biological treatment plants. For use in the treatment of effluents from chemical plants, steel plants, refineries, food processing, municipal wastewater treatment plants or any other systems where unaided, natural nitrification will not occur.
MICROBAC OL Grease Degrader
Biochemically liquifies and degrades fats, oils, and greases trapped in wastewater treatment plants and equipment. For heavy duty use in wastewater plants, package plants, lift stations, wet wells and sewer lines.
MICROBAC PT Hydrocarbon Degrader for Saline Environments
Degrades crude and processed oil and other refined hydrocarbons in saline environments. Formulated to degrade oily organic materials in tank farms and refineries, along pipelines and in wastewater treatment systems, and in spills in the soil and on beach sand.
SEPTACLEAN
An all-natural biochemical complex for cleaning septic tanks, cesspools and drain fields. It re-establishes the liquefying activity that has been completely or partially destroyed by the excessive use of strong caustics, detergents, bleaches, and destructive chemicals.
Ancillary Products
MICROBAC E
A proprietary biodegradable surfactant formulated for use in conjunction with the biological hydrocarbon degraders. Microbac E enhances the interfacial contact between the aqueous phase, which carries the micro-organisms, and the hydrocarbon molecules to be degraded.
MICROBAC NL
A balanced nutrient blend containing nitrogen and phosphorus to create optimum conditions for growth in biological treatment systems. For use in wastewater treatment plants, composting operations and hydrocarbon spill clean-up. Also available in a convenient to use liquid form.
Customised Formulations
Customised product formulations can also be supplied for the treatment of specific wastewaters, in particular, those containing recalcitrant molecules or toxic organics.
